29 APPOINTMENTS ECUSTA NAMES 12 NEW FOREMEN On completion of the Ecusta Management Training program, 12 foremen were assigned responsi bilities in third quarter. One is in Paper Materials, two are in Con verting, and 9 are in Finishing. Five newly hired employees and four former hourly persons are working as foremen in Finishing: JOHN W. AMMONS worked with the U. S. Postal Service and Cutler- Hammer Inc. at Arden before join ing Ecusta. A native of Sylva, he attended West Buncombe High School and graduated cum laude from the University of North Caro lina at Asheville with a B.A. degree in Sociology. He served with the U. S. Air Force in Viet Nam and was a member of the Veterans’ Club at UNC-A. CHARLES E. OWEN, employed in Ecusta Finishing since June 1967, was a slitter service operator be fore being named relief foreman two years ago. A Brevard native and graduate of Brevard High School, he is an alumnus of Blue Ridge Tech nical Institute. He was formerly em ployed at B & B Feed and Seed Co. He is active in Parent-Teachers Assn., and youth football and soft- ball programs. LINDA J. PAXTON began work in the Rod Department in Septem ber 1966. On transferring to Fin ishing she worked as a reclaim oper ator for two years, and was slitter operator when appointed foreman. She is a native of Transylvania Coun ty and a graduate of Rosman High School and Brevard College. She was employed earlier by American Thread Co. WILBURN E. ROBERTS was em ployed as a slitter service operator in January 1959. He had worked as relief foreman for the past two years. He worked as a farmer be fore joining Olin. He was born in Madison County and attended schools in Waynesville. BOYCE M. ROBINSON was a slitter operator and had served as relief foreman for the past five years. With Olin since November 1968, he had worked five years with Cranston Print Works. He was born at Travelers Rest and attended schools at Flat Rock. ANTHONY HENDERSON is a recent graduate of N. C. A & T State University at Greensboro where he earned a B.A. degree in Psychology. While there he was a member of the Men’s Council and Peer Group Counseling, and was active in sports. Captain of the golf team, he also played football, base- ball, basketball and volleyball. He also is a member of the Association to Save Children. He is a native of Thomasville where he attended schools. JAMES R. SCHLUNZ, a native of Brevard, worked summers in the Film Division Coating and Research departments while a student at Wes tern Carolina University. He earned a B.S. degree in Industrial Tech nology and was active in the in tramural program. He is a native of Brevard and a graduate of Bre vard High School. ALLEN W. TATE, a native of Spartanburg, attended schools in Brevard before entering Western Carolina University where he earned his B.S. degree in Business Admin istration and Finance. He was presi dent of the University chapter of the Society for the Advancement of Management and was nominated to the Who’s Who college directory.
